Here’s a few stats from the survey (these will 🤯): Our definition? Companies are adapting to marketing’s Great Resignation by hiring freelance marketers, and the trend is accelerating. This has to suck for marketing teams and the folks that lead them, right? To find out, we surveyed 600+ marketing decision-makers across the country, and found a better-suited name for the phenomenon. Of the 25K+ marketers we surveyed back in July, 48% 🤯 of them said they were planning to quit their jobs. Marketers aren’t excluded from this trend. The pandemic only kicked the transition from full-time employment into overdrive. 👉 The percentage of independent contractors self-employed by choice grew from 2012 to 2019, from 66% to 81% - according to MBO Partners. Before you blame the Great Resignation, we think it’s something different altogether.įor clarity, the pandemic didn’t fully accelerate the freelance economy all on it’s own.
